Abstract: In the talk we present some resent results concerning spectral properties of a class of diffusion processes, which essentially have already been introduced by W. Feller in the late 1950's. These diffusion processes are non-reversible and contain a non-local component, which makes their analysis quite interesting already in one dimension. We give a survey of different methods used to study spectral properties focusing mainly on probabilistic ideas.
