Abstract: Irreversible behavior in open quantum systems will be considered. Some simple models of Quantum Brownian Motion and of (Quantum) Friction are introduced and studied. Some implications of our results for a 'quantum theory of experiments' are sketched. The lecture is based on recent joint work with A. Pizzo, W. De Roeck, I.M. Sigal and A. Soffer.
