Abstract: The computation of angular frequencies and electromagnetic field phasors associated to the resonant cavity problem is extremely difficult to assess. This is due, in part, to the apearence of spurious non-physical solution when the problem is reduced by means of the wrong approximation basis. In this talk we will discuss mathematical reasons for the appearence of these non-physical solutions and a numerical techniques that avoids them completely.
